Since 2010, Rascom has been an official partner of AMS-IX, the world’s leading Internet exchange point, based in Amsterdam. By being a partner of AMS-IX, Rascom can offer remote AMS-IX connectivity to its customers. As of today, the volume of connections being realized is equal to 50 Gbps.
AMS-IX interconnects close to 650 parties and has a peak traffic number of over 2.5 Tbps. This traffic number is partly a result of the AMS-IX top-level popularity with the world carriers’ community. Thanks to AMS-IX’s activities, carriers can extend their number of peering partners and increase the connectivity of their respective networks. Along with that, the high-quality technical support level of AMS-IX is creating optimally convenient conditions for the carriers’ business.
Within the frames of the remote connection service, Rascom arranges a backbone capacity from its access nodes, located on the territory of Russia, to Amsterdam, and implements the connection to our AMS-IX ports. One of the advantages of this service is the transparence of the service as provided by Rascom. After being connected to the traffic exchange point in Amsterdam, a carrier becomes a valid representative of the AMS-IX association and has a possibility to directly use the technical support system.
To further increase partner involvement and to reward successful partners, AMS-IX has introduced a revised partner program in October 2013 with new partner levels: Gold Partner, Silver Partner and Partner.
Following RASCOM’s partner results in 2013, AMS-IX has awarded RASCOM with the Silver Partner status.
