RASCOM is increasing its presence in Europe: a new PoP in the Data Center Mörfelden-Walldorf

18.03.2026
JSC RASCOM has completed organization of last miles in Mörfelden-Walldorf to provide the access to China Mobile Data Center, one of the largest and highly demanded connectivity node near Frankfurt. This project gives the new opportunity for RASCOM customers to connect to the infrastructure in Frankfurt which is the key European telecommunication hub.

The communication infrastructure of the Data Center, which is located at the address 12 Starkenburgstraße, Mörfelden-Walldorf, provides the access to several Tier 1 carriers; it is also designed with regard to reservation, which allows high speed data transmission with a low delay as well as the mitigation of downtime risks. These characteristics make the site reliable and advantageous for placing critical infrastructure.

Thus far it has been quite challenging to get connected to this DC in Walldorf due to its limited accessibility. This limitation was removed with the protected connection to RASCOM’s network: the company has become one of few carriers that granted a direct access to the site. The technical solution is implemented as relocation of RASCOM DWDM network that is bounded to the backbone nodes of the company’s network in Frankfurt. It allows designing protected channels as well as channels on several fully diverse routes.
The RASCOM service is geared towards the sector-specific Chinese telecommunications carriers as well as international corporate customers that are interested in optimization of their networks in Frankfurt. RASCOM has already commenced implementation of the services using the new netnode; in most cases there are 100 Gbps communication channels from different PoP in Europe.

“Frankfurt is the key point of the European telecommunication architecture. Due to expansion of both DWDM infrastructure and the opportunity of building fully diverse routes our customers will get more sustainable and reliable communication channels on one of the most demanded directions of international traffic,” has been emphasized by Sergei Grachev Director of the Department of Project Management, International Resource Leasing and Strategic Development of Data Transfer of PJSC VimpelCom.
