JSC RASCOM is building new backbone line from Moscow to Saint Petersburg

Telecom company RASCOM is interested in expanding its network to the East of Russia on the basis of TEA NEXT system. The respective agreement with Atlas LLC is signed in the course of the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
RASCOM is getting the third independent route between St. Petersburg and Moscow. The new DWDM system will improve the aggregate capacity of the circuits on this crucial direction.
The new RASCOM system is building with the aid of Trans-Eurasian cable system (TEA NEXT). The operator of the TEA NEXT project is Atlas Company. During the construction there will be used optic fibers of G.654E category that are applied for the 1st time in the FOCL construction in Russia and they ensure implementation of the most advanced and high speed optical data transmission.
"The project will allow improving the reliability of RASCOM network due to geographic reserving of the routes as well as increasing the network capacity for transfer the fast-growing traffic quantity," RASCOM CEO Denis Ganza has commented.
“We welcome the decision of RASCOM that has become our first market customer ordering the TEA NEXT dark fibers,” Atlas CEO Alexander Ratushny has noted, “using the TEA NEXT cable system will provide our colleagues from JSC RASCOM with the opportunities of transit system which are not available in any existing terrestrial lines.”
