Happy New Year 2007!

Dear colleagues!

One more year of or company operation will be over soon. This year was difficult but interesting as far as changes and new trends at backbone telecomm market are concerned.
We are glad to tell you that, during the year passed, the volume of services provided by CJSC RASCOM has significantly increased. In 2006, to increase the bandwidth of oiur backbone network, we have made an up-grade at the section Finnish-Russian Border - Saint-Petersburg - Bologoye - Moscow (M9). At Rascom's basic network, new wavelengths in the DWDM linear path have been activated which permitted to build second STM-64 transmission system on оборудовании OME6500 equipment manufactured by Nortel. As a result of the up-grades performed, the total bandwidth of the network grew from 96 through 160 STM-1. At the same time, in May 2006, CJSC RASCOM commissioned telematic services node in the city of Veliky Novgorod which gave us opportunity to offer services based on our Giganet IP network to Novgorod operators.
In the year passed, as it was before, our effiorts to provide for high-quality service to our customers have been widely acknowledged by Russian telecomm operators' community. In 2006, the company Rascom has been invited to all open and closed tenders by Russian companies. Certainly, we could not be winners always, but, it was with our company that numerous big and prestigious contracts were made. Thus, we became contractors for big tenders such as providing international capacity to the Ministry of Education of Russian Federation and big-size channel resources for a number of leading alkternative operators in Moscow.

As it happened earlier, we have actively exchanged with operators our vision of the trends in development of communications in Russia as we participated in operators forums. Thus, we made presentations at the conference "Status and perspectives of Internet development in Russia" in Vatutinki as well as in Peering forum organized by MSK-IX in Moscow. Our boluth at the international exhibition "Svyazexpocomm-2006" in spring in Moscow was as usual popular with the exhibition participants. In 2007, too, we will take part in similar telecomm events notonly to make public the results we have achieved but, in course of professional views exchange, widen our knowledge of the opertator market needs.

We are attentively watching the trends of backbone access development and, to reflect our wish to keep pace with those trends, we have developped new communications services this year that are based on using IP technologies and have already founds their users among our customers. And, to more efficiently use the services our company offers, we have introduced some new IP service tariff rate systems.
For the next year, we are planning to further up-grade our network which you- our customers and partners - will be the first to klnow of. Let this be one of the agreable surprises of the new 2007.
